We respectfully acknowledge that this film was created in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people.
We are all treaty people.
I See You follows the journey of a small group of women and genderqueer artists through a facilitated 5-day retreat as they use their art to explore and question their relationship with their bodies and their sexual health.
Sexual health affirms sexuality as a positive force, enhancing other dimensions of one’s life.
The work of the retreat was to use somatic inquiries to examine the social conditionings of shame that are built around female and genderqueer bodies and their experiences with sexual health.
Meet Us: Katerina Bakolias (Producer) and Amy Trefry (Director)
Interwoven Films is an emerging and ambitious production company. We believe that stories build bonds through empathy and creativity and allow us to deepen our relationships with each other, our communities, and our environment. Interwoven Films is dedicated to engaging in inclusive storytelling that challenges the audience and creators alike to see themselves in stories, and remind us all that we are connected to each other and the greater world around us. We look to film as a means to create change and impact people, we aren’t bound by convention, traditions, or norms. We actively seek to tell untold stories and amplify the voices that have long been ignored.
I See YouParticipants
Six incredibly courageous artists agreed to come together for five days, to share their experiences, vulnerability, and art. Lead by a facilitator and sexual trauma expert, they allowed this process to be filmed.

I See YouPhoto Project
Since we were only able to include six women and gender queer femme artists in the documentary project, we invited other people who resonated with our theme to share their stories during a photography session.
